Soqotra Island, Island of the World's Strangest

When I first read the article about Soqotra Island I was very stunned admiration. The island is located in the territory of Yemen is a desert island inhabited around 40,000 people. Soqotra name itself derived from Sanskrit which means 'Island of Happiness'. So what does that make me impressed with this island?! When viewed through the beach does not have an odd glance. White sand, coral rock, crystal clear sea water, rich beaches in Indonesia is also not less interesting to the beach on the island of Soqotra. But .. liat deh first trees and plants that exist on this island .. Huaaaaaa .. Weird!

Because many trees and plants on the island is included in the category of endemic flora, which means there will never be found anywhere else in the world except the island of Soqotra. There are even some varieties that had been predicted to reach age 20 million years louh! Hueeew ..

Well, this is the first. Trees with a very odd shape and we certainly will never temuin in the yard next door neighbor, her name is Dragon Blood tree or dracaena cinnabari. The shape is weird right?! It is said that this tree is also used as ingredients for magic rituals in medieval times. And this certainly would be my favorite trees for background images if someday I get to Soqotra xD

Ever heard about Adenium plant? It's like there are tables of plants in pots that looks rich but flowering taro bogor .. Well, if ordinary Adenium hell, we've often rich clay. But deh Adenium clay in the island of Socotra. Adenium obesium or Latin name is also called Desert Rose. Adenium this type of wealth would not fit deh kalo placed at the pot. Gede really great But these plants do not need soil rich deh. enough taro aja on the rocks and he became this big.

Maybe people's perceptions are different. But I myself still consider it admirable Although I would probably rethink my desire to go to the Island of Soqotra because some of these facts:

* Soqotra Soqotra Island is an island that has a tropical climate of the desert. The heat can reach 40 degrees Celsius. - 22 years living in tropical countries, if a vacation to a hot place too rich not seruuu deh
* Because the Island is an island protected Soqotra sustainability there is almost no roads built. The only road that was there, just built about 2 years ago. It was a tough agreement between the Government of Yemen and UNESCO. - Heuuu, can be imagined if want to tour around the island, maybe we should bring personal camel.
* In order not to many tourists who come to the island Soqotra and for naturalness of Soqotra island was still awake so do not expect to find a hotel or a resort there, - please bring own tent if you want to visit.


Finally, perhaps the island is not a tourist destination Soqotra appropriate and comfortable. After all much better if the island is not too much touched by humans, that there'll reduce habitat damage. we simply admire the oddity of this island through the pictures.
