The Little Chapel of Les Vauxbelets

Starting from discontent against the central government in power, then a group of pastors from the French state decided to exile himself to one of the islands in the south of England. Known as the Channel islands, precisely in 1904 berlabuhlah them there and chose to settle in the area Les Vauxbelets.

Besides the religious, they are also very enthusiastic about education, and they established a large school buildings and attractive in those days. 1923 Deodat priest and pastor Cephas, start building a chapel (small church) around the school yard.

They established a small church is a miniature sacred basilica at Lourdes. Length about 5 meters, its width ranges from 3 meters, rated as the world's smallest church. Both pastors are realizing his work through art, love and dedication towards the religion. For that entire walls and ceilings inside, outside wall also other parts of the church were completed with the decoration of fragments of goods, glassware, various shells and small stones from the beach.

This is not the first church they founded, but it is the 3rd. Previously they have built something similar in 1914, but was too small and a lot of criticism so that by the second pastor was destroyed. So with that to 2 which is a perfect replica of Lourdes, again assessed as too small and did not allow a priest to go and pray there in comfort.

Completion of the church to 3 ends, pastor Deodat back to France and died not long after World War II ended. Currently, the small church maintenance handled by social institutions and assisted students from schools that used them myself.
